Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour

Itinerary

Our adventure begins very early, as we pick you up from your hotel between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. We will board our private bus for a 2-hour journey to the district of Cusipata – Paucarpata (3,310 m.a.s.l.), where we will enjoy breakfast. We will then continue on to Llaqto, where the checkpoint is located.

From this point, we will begin a 1-hour-and-30-minute hike; there is also the option to rent a horse if you prefer not to walk the entire way. During the ascent, we will take in the area’s varied flora and fauna, and we’ll be able to spot two species typical of the region: the llama and the alpaca.

Upon reaching the viewpoint of the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), our guide will give us an explanation of the ecosystem, the terrain, and the formation of the mountain’s famous colors. During the visit, we will have time to take photos and videos to capture this unforgettable moment.

We will then return to the town of Llaqto, where we will board our bus and head to Cusipata to enjoy a buffet lunch. After the meal, we will board the bus once again to return to the city of Cusco, with an estimated arrival time between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.
